What is DPL Elite?
A narrowband pulsed light platform for pigment, vascular concerns, acne and hair reduction, designed to be more precise and gentler than conventional IPL. TruePulse™ energy delivery and integrated cooling keep performance stable and results consistent across skin types.
How is DPL different from IPL?
IPL emits a broad range of wavelengths that can scatter energy into surrounding melanin. DPL narrows the output so it is absorbed more selectively by melanin and hemoglobin, with less effect on the epidermis.
Is it suitable for darker skin?
DPL Elite is designed for Fitzpatrick types I to V. Narrowband light, short pulses and cooling help reduce the risk of burns and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Type VI requires extra caution.
How does it compare with a diode laser for hair removal?
A diode laser uses a coherent beam at one fixed wavelength, usually around 808 nm, with a fixed spot size; it is built mainly for hair and works best on skin types I to IV, sometimes V. DPL Elite uses filtered polychromatic pulsed light with interchangeable filters, so it also treats pigment, vascular lesions and acne, and its narrowband light suits a wider range of skin types, typically I to V.
What is the patient experience like?
Most clients find DPL sessions quick and comfortable. The UltraCool Sapphire™ handpiece protects the epidermis consistently, TruePulse™ energy reduces hotspots, and there is no downtime.
How long do treatments take?
About 5 minutes for an upper lip, 10 to 15 minutes for a face, around 30 minutes for a back or full legs, and 45 to 60 minutes for a full body. Because it needs fewer passes than legacy IPL, DPL Elite saves time for operator and client alike.
How many sessions are typical?
Most courses are 4 to 6 sessions, 3 to 4 weeks apart, with maintenance every 6 to 12 months depending on the concern.
What can clinics charge?
Providers commonly charge about $100 to $350 or more per session, depending on the treatment and market, so the system can pay for itself within its first 10 to 20 clients. Training is included, so you can start treating without delay.
